Merchandise Building
89 Gould StreetToronto, ON M5B 2R1
The Merchandise Building in downtown Toronto's Church-Yonge corridor is a 20th-century industrial structure inspired by the Chicago School of architecture.
Originally built in 1910 for Simpson’s department store, it has been redeveloped and now houses Metro and Toronto Metropolitan University, among other service-based retailers. Next to Toronto Metropolitan University and surrounded by student housing and upscale lofts, it is located in one of Toronto's most desirable areas.
